How old is the Academy?

Our academy is 4 years old, but we moved to Thinkific in May 2021

What are your favorite tools and gear?

Our favourite tools are Camtasia (video editing), Happyscribe (captions, subtitles and transcripts), Photopea (online version of Photoshop and every bit as good), Unsplash (excellent CC0 images) Youtube Audio Library (background music tracks), Elgato Stream Deck (shortcuts for video editing and content production), ShuttlePro V2 (low-cost video controller wheel for video editing), Zapier for automation out from Thinkific.

We absorb lots of inspiration from the amazing community in the Customer Education Org Slack Community!

Biggest lesson learned creating video content for Academy?

Keep it bite-sized, make videos 5-10 minutes or less, and chunk the training so users can spread their learning over time. Better to have a course with 50 lessons 5 minutes each than 4 lessons of 1 hour each.

How many students go through the Academy per year?

We have ~1,500 learners (and growing) visiting per year
